Featured Ride: Downtown Fridays

See full Google map here.

There’s no better way to start the weekend than with a bike ride. And this Friday is going to be a beautifully unseasonal 53 degrees and SUNNY! So shake off that couch potato attitude and ride a bike to work. You’ll undoubtedly arrive feeling better than everyone else at the office and when you leave work, forget about sitting in your car and driving home, get back on a bike and explore Downtown. There’s a lot going on this Friday, so we’ve crafted our recommended Friday itinerary. Maybe we’ll see you out there!

Point A: Ride to Downtown

Roll into Downtown on that sweet, sweet Penn Avenue bike lane. You’ll avoid expensive parking fees, the stress of finding a decent parking space, and you’ll arrive feeling refreshed. Find your best route by checking out Lanespotter or the Pittsburgh Bike Map.

Point B: The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Gallery Crawl

Check out some of Pittsburgh’s best galleries for FREE at The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Gallery Crawl. See the Gallery Crawl MAP of destinations, hosting US premieres of international multimedia artists, regional visual art exhibitions, live music, theater and dance performances, film screenings, hands-on creative activities, and special crawl after dark attractions.

Don’t miss the January Night Market as well nestled into the gallery crawl on Liberty Ave. The January Night Market is an indoor market featuring some of Pittsburgh’s most creative independent vendors. Warm up in the lobby of 925 Liberty Avenue from 5:30 – 10:00 p.m. with hot beverages, treats, jewelry, crafts, music, and more!

Point C: Wharhol Museum

Enjoy FREE admission, special guest DJs Justo & Naeem, and a cash bar at the Warhol Museum’s Good Friday event series. Check out the Warhol’s Permanent Collection, grab a drink, dance a little (or a lot), and then head back across the bridge for some dinner in Downtown.

Point D: Dinner at Market Square

Park your bike at the Market Square Healthy Ride station and find your favorite Downtown food joint. You could get real yinzer with it and head to Primanti’s, or take a quick walk to check out some of Downtown’s newer stand-out restaurants like täko or Meat and Potatoes.

Even more Downtown and Strip District Dining is a quick 5-10 minute bike ride away!
