July Events Roundup

Summer is in full swing, which means we’ve got lots of events for you to discover!

Ambassador Group Rides

Our Community Ambassadors are leading group rides all throughout the summer. Check out our Facebook events page for the latest updates.

BBQ Burn

July 4
11am – 12pm
Frankstown Ave + Eastview St Healthy Ride station

Let’s fire up those quads before you fire up the grill. Don’t feel like cooking? Consider purchasing from one of the two BBQ spots we stop at. We will be stopping briefly at The Dream BBQ, Showcase BBQ, The Art House, and Westinghouse Park. This ride is led by Ambassador Coley Alston.


Ridin’ with the Valedictorian

July 6
9am – 11am
Westinghouse Academy

Westinghouse students and staff are working together outside of the traditional school setting for a nice summer meet up with 2019 Valedictorian Annette Payne. All community members are welcome to join us on this ride around Homewood! This ride is led by Ambassadors Brittany Brown and Merecedes Williams.


Hip Hop Night Cruise

July 13
7pm – 9pm
Level Up Studios

D.W.C Productions presents HIP HOP bike cruise. Join us on a night bike ride around Garfield as we listen to some Hip Hop classics. This ride is led by Ambassadors Merecedes Williams and Brittany Brown. Please note: this ride is currently sold out for Healthy Ride requests. You can still RSVP if you plan to bring your personal bike. 


Ice Cream Crawl

July 19
6pm – 7:30pm
48th St + Butler St Healthy Ride station

I-scream, you-scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! Bike from Lawrenceville to Downtown with stops at three different ice cream parlors. This ride is slightly downhill, and about 3.5 miles long. Clothing reflective of your favorite ice cream flavor is highly encouraged. This ride is led by Ambassador Coley Alston.


Ridin’ with 412 Food Rescue

July 27
9am – 11am
Frankstown Ave + East Liberty Blvd Healthy Ride station

Riders are invited out for a good cause and help to end food waste in the Greater Pittsburgh Area with 412 Food Rescue! Community Ambassador Merecedes Williams is also a 412 Food Rescue hero, who in her free time rescues food in her truck. Now, Healthy Ride will be the mode of transportation. This ride is led by Ambassador Merecedes Williams.


Big BOOTY Bicycle Ride

July 27
11am – 12:30pm
Hot Metal St + Tunnel Blvd Healthy Ride station

Do you have a BIG BOOTY? Do you want a BIG BOOTY? Do you love a BIG BOOTY? Then bring your booty to this ride. We will be traversing the lovely Southside, with stops at Riverfront Park and Fudge Farm! Wear what makes you feel BOOTY-ful. We will be blasting Big BOOTY favorites so everyone stops and stares for a moment. This ride is led by Ambassador Coley Alston.

BikePGH’s Slow Roll

July 11

Hosted by BikePGH

Slow Roll is for everyone! All ages and experience levels are welcome. Our family-friendly pace keeps everyone safe and gives riders a unique perspective of our great city. Whether you ride mountain bikes, do cross country bike trips, or simply get together with your friends and like to ride around your neighborhood, you are welcome to join!


WQED Kindness Day

July 20
5pm – 7pm
Riverhounds Stadium

As part of their Kindness Campaign, WQED is hosting a Kindness Day on July 20th! Join WQED and the Riverhounds for an evening of kindness and soccer in the ‘Burgh!

Hosted by BikePGH

OpenStreetsPGH is inspired by the open streets movement – a global phenomenon promoting healthy outdoor activity and community engagement using city streets. OpenStreetPGH temporarily closes streets to car traffic and invites Pittsburghers to reimagine their streets as places for people. This free event series connects communities to each other and creates a safe place for people of all ages to walk, bike, roll, and dance through 10 neighborhoods in 2019.

Skip the parking headache and bike to the ballgame! We have a station located at Isabella St + Federal St, just outside of PNC Park.

Summer is peak farmers market season, but don’t worry about fighting for parking! Many of the markets have stations nearby, and our bikes have a basket with straps to transport your fresh purchases.
