Meet the Ambassadors: Matt

About Matt
Matt is the Marketing Technology and Social Media Manager at Duquesne University. He also is an instructor at the Wheel Mill in Homewood. This is his first year as a Community Ambassador.

How long have you lived in Pittsburgh?

10 years

How long have you used the bike share program, and how do you use the bikes? (i.e. you bike to work, school, church)

I’ve used Healthy Ride since they launched in 2015. Every year I have more fun discovering ways that I can incorporate them into more of my life. I use them the most for commuting when the weather looks iffy and I left my bike at home or need to travel around town during breaks in the weather.

What year did you start biking?

When I was 5 or 6, but as a daily commuter since 2014.

What are your favorite places to bike in Pittsburgh, and why?

I really like riding the city streets; through Bloomfield, Lawrenceville, into the Strip, and into Downtown. I also enjoy a relaxed trail ride along the North Side into Millvale.

Complete the following sentence. I love Healthy Ride’s bike share program, because…

It gives everyone the opportunity to experience the joy of riding a bicycle.

In addition to featuring our Ambassadors, Healthy Ride is creating a series of rider profiles to feature some of our riders and showcase how they use the system. If you would like to be featured, please fill out our survey.
