Meet the staff of Healthy Ride! We’d like to show you the faces of the team that keeps Pittsburgh’s bike share rolling.
I actually started as a volunteer for Healthy Ride’s Street Team back in 2016 when the system was still fairly new.
I became an official staff member in January 2019 as Healthy Ride’s Digital Communication Specialist. I primarily handle all our digital content, including the app, website, social media, and photography.
My dad taught me how to ride in our driveway when I was around 6-7. I had a pink and white Barbie bike, complete with aerodynamic tassels.
I’m mainly a commuter rider. But I also love recreational riding with friends!
I like taking Healthy Ride downhill to get to work, then catching the bus back up the hill when commuting home. I enjoy taking the quieter streets through neighborhoods.
Since I like avoiding traffic, I find Coral St, Mintwood St, and Spring Way to be great alternatives to Liberty and Penn.
While a good portion of my job is done at a computer, I also do 4,793 other things, so there’s never a dull moment!
When I’m not at my desk managing our online presence, I’m out in the field snapping photos of our events, assisting our Ambassadors with their group rides, or representing Healthy Ride at an outreach event. I do it all, folks!
I loved participating in our final Ambassador group ride last year, Ridin’ in a Onesie! We rode from the Healthy Ride office, through the Strip, and ended at the Point, all decked out in onesies and costumes. (because you’re wondering, I dressed up in a Star Trek outfit. Now you know I’m a nerd.)
I’ve been walking everyday and seeing my neighborhood from a new, slower perspective. I’ve created several informal walking tours, including “The Backyard Chicken Coop Tour” and “The Friendly Neighborhood Cat Tour.”
