Meet the Ambassadors: C.C.

About C.C.

Hello, my name is C.C. and this is my first year as a Community Ambassador with Healthy Ride, I am excited!  I am just a girl who enjoys life, loves to laugh, and have big dreams of making the world a better place.  I work professionally at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, Zumba instructor, plus-size motivator, mentor, model, speaker, and a person who enjoys connecting people.  I am currently working on my doctorate in Education in which I hope to become the coolest most fun educator that I can be.  I am a lover of the arts, a singer, dancer, nerd, people lover, and enjoy spending time with my cocker spaniel, Laila, friends, and family.

How long have you lived in Pittsburgh?

I have lived in Pittsburgh all my life, born and raised.  Go Steelers!

When did you learn how to ride a bike and who taught you?

I learned to ride a bike when I was a toddler!  My parents taught me and I thought I was never going to be able to ride a bike.  I quickly went from training wheels to the real thing and have been loving it since!

How long have you used the bike share program, and how do you use the bikes? (i.e. you bike to work, school, church)

I have used the bike share program off and on for the past 3 years.  I mostly used the program for leisure and exercise.  On my breaks from work I would ride through the city, shower, and go right back to work.  It was a great way to unwind!

What are your favorite places to bike in Pittsburgh, and why?

My favorite places to bike are in Highland Park, around Downtown and the Point, and when I go to Erie, PA.  They have the best bike trails!

Complete the following sentence. I love Healthy Ride’s bike share program, because…

It has helped me accomplish personal goals for myself like weight loss, becoming stronger, and has made me a bike lover for life!
