COVID-19 Update: July 17, 2020

We at Healthy Ride are continuing to monitor the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19, as well as following Governor Wolf’s updates on coronavirus mitigation efforts, and following all local guidelines for Allegheny County.

Healthy Ride will continue to operate during this time, but it is imperative that our riders continue to diligently protect themselves and other riders while using Healthy Ride; COVID-19 is still spreading and it’s imperative to keep yourself and your fellow rides safe. Riders should:

  • wear a mask when in public
  • maintain a 6-foot minimum distance from others
  • wash hands before and after a ride
  • consider bringing along sanitizing wipes to clean your bike before and after you ride
  • avoid touching your face with unwashed hands
  • consider wearing gloves as an additional precaution

We will continue to sanitize our fleet and stations, and continue our modified internal operations in order for our staff to practice social distancing. While we are taking every precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we strongly encourage folks to stay home whenever possible. For more details about our safety procedures, read our update from April 17th here.

A note about our Winter Hibernation stations

Due to the ongoing health crisis and its impact on our operations, Healthy Ride has no immediate plans to re-install the 13 stations we took into winter hibernation. We recognize that this may impact our riders and hope that other nearby stations will continue to provide a substitution for these stations. Please stay tuned for further announcements regarding these stations.
