Meet the Ambassadors: Coley

About Coley

I am an unfriendly Black QT from the East End of Pittsburgh. My interests include public health, dollar store drag, and cheering Gen Z in the fight for liberation. I’ve been playing the same games for over 20 years: Sims, Pokémon, and Animal Crossing. The worst game I’ve ever played is Real Life— the graphics are great but the leveling is slow and class options are a nightmare.

What was your favorite part of last year’s Ambassador program?

My favorite part of last year’s program was becoming a more confident street cyclist and finding ways to access green spaces without having to drive a car (and find parking).

What was something unexpected/interesting/fun that you learned from last year’s program?

I learned that I can beat the 91 bus from downtown to Lawrenceville, and biked from 6th street to 53rd street in 15 minutes.

What are you most excited about for this year’s Ambassador program?

I’m in a neighborhood that is new to me (Northside), so I want to learn about the surrounding neighborhoods and how I can safely and quickly get to the parks and murals.

Complete the following sentence. I love Healthy Ride’s bike share program, because…

I have all the benefits of access to a bike without fear that it will be stolen. I like having the option to walk, bus, or bike without having to keep track of where MY bike is.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Pittsburgh is not too hilly! Don’t be intimidated to ride, just start flat and make climbs as YOU feel comfortable to do so.
