Ambassador Ride: C.C.’s “My Milkshake Brings All the Bikes to the Yard” Ride

This year, our Ambassadors are using Ride Spot to create unique routes that can be used by daily commuters, first-time riders, and anyone in between. Learn more and start riding with us virtually!

My Milkshake brings all the Bikes to the Yard ride was important to me because I have so many memories of my childhood and as a young adult in the East Liberty area of Pittsburgh. East Liberty is an up and coming area and is bordered by Highland Park, Morningside, Friendship, Stanton Heights, Garfield, Shadyside, and Larimer. When you enter East Liberty you are welcomed with trendy restaurants, boutiques, hotels, and new housing developments. This ride included my best friend, my partner, Trey (Lead Ambassador), and Lizzy (Digital Communication Specialist at Healthy Ride). We met at the Negley Avenue and Stanton Avenue Healthy Ride Station, grabbed our bikes, and off we went.

We rode on Negley Avenue for several blocks and turned on Penn Avenue and made a few stops. First stop was the East Liberty Presbyterian Church. The East Liberty Presbyterian Church has been around since 1935 and is a building that is full of ministry, programs for the community, and has over 900 members that attend three different kinds of worship services each week. Many people who are from East Liberty knows about this church and has possibly even taken a picture in front of it

After the quick photo session in front of the church, we made our way to the Milkshake Factory and we definitely brought all the bikes to the yard! I could not wait to get my hands on some chocolate, I bought enough to last me for the weekend. Thank you Milkshake Factory for all of your delicious treats!

We then made our way down Highland Avenue where our last stop would be, The Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The Seminary was founded in 1794 and is a graduate theological school of the Presbyterian Church. No matter the time of the year, the land that surround the Seminary is beautiful! After leaving The Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, we headed back on Stanton Avenue to end our ride. I love East Liberty and enjoyed this ride so much! Stay tuned for my next ride, “Take a Healthy Ride on the Northside”.
