Station Removals: Don’t Worry, Exciting Things are Coming!

We know, we know. You keep hearing about all of the exciting new updates Healthy Ride has planned for 2022, but we’re finally starting to prepare our system and our riders for these BIG updates. While you’ll have to stay tuned for the really exciting stuff to be announced in February 2022, we want to share with you our plans for the current system, and what to expect for the coming months.

In order to make room for things to come, we need to remove stations from the network. Healthy Ride will still have 50+ stations to rent and return from for the season. We know this removal will not come without impact to our customers, but it is essential. Our goal is to consistently expand year over year and bring back more stations to your neighborhood and connect new communities to the bikeshare network in Pittsburgh.

This past week our team began removing station kiosks at 50 Healthy Ride stations throughout the city, and soon, they’ll be back to remove the station docks as well. These 50 stations will be closed for 2022.

As for the bikes, we’ll be replacing all of the Healthy Ride bikes with new bikes in 2022, which means we have a unique opportunity for organizations to help us find new homes for these bikes. The “Recycle A Bicycle” program is still in planning stage, you can learn more and sign up HERE.

Thank you for rolling with us, Pittsburgh!
